sports camp

This past week our church hosted Sports Camp to 600 kids! If it looks like Skill School from previous summers at Sunnybrook, that's because it's somewhat similar. We offered FOR FREE cheerleading, flag football, soccer and basketball both in the morning and the afternoon (so we had 2 different groups of kids each day). The past 2 years a group came to help put on the Camp, but this year we did it on our own. Sports Camp included skills and drills, lots of fun with friends and volunteers, snacks, scrimmages and of course devotions to learn more about Jesus' love for us!

prayer time and pep talk with volunteers beforehand

Kraig taking a "break" from coaching basketball outside to do a little "work" in his office
Registration and pickup was held outside the church each day - this pic is of some volunteers and you can see about half of the numerous registration tables before the kids started arriving The church bus picked up a group of kids from an apartment building each day
snack time!
small group devotions

soccer - This is volunteers vs. the kids. Michael is in the grey t-shirt on the right

What a blessing the kids were to us this week! We are so happy to be at a church that reaches out to families with Sports Camp!!
