A couple of weeks ago I heard Chris Tomlin interviewed on the radio describing when he first heard this song written by Bluetree. While in Thailand for a praise event, Bluetree was asked to perform at a bar, and when they arrived realized it was a brothel. During the set, this song came to their hearts and was written and performed during that moment.
When Chris started singing it live, I was amazed to realize Kraig had already used it in our worship services twice. This song touches me more than I can describe.
You're the God of this city, You're the King of these people
You're the Lord of this nation, You are
You're the Light in this darkness, You're the Hope to the hopeless
You're the Peace to the restless, You are
There is no one like our God, there is no one like our God
For greater things have yet to come, and greater things are still to be done in this city
Greater things have yet to come, and greater things are still to be done in this city
Greater things have yet to come, and greater things are still to be done here
"God Of This City" led by Chris Tomlin and written by Bluetree
