fun labor day weekend last month

Since I am still catching up on some old activities for our family, I have to share about our really fun Labor Day weekend. Friday night the football team won 31-7 and the band had a great first performance. Saturday Tim had a soccer game (won 5-0) and right afterward we drove downtown to Progressive Field for the MN Twins baseball game here (yes it was a Cleveland Indians game too!). We sat right by the Twins' bullpen. Here's Baker before the game started. The Cleveland Air Show was going on so the fans and players had a hard time focusing on the field. At one point Cuddyer even acted like he was ducking under a low flying plane. We didn't get a good pic of it, but here's an ok one.

Redmond was warming up the pitchers in the bullpen and took some time to sign an autograph and chat with a kid.
Here's Joe Nathan warming up. The Twins won 4-1! We saw a football, soccer and baseball win in just 2 days.

Then Monday our family volunteered at the Air Show to raise funds for the Band Boosters. It was fun and we'll probably volunteer again next year. Our family worked as 2 of the "teams" (adult handled money and student handled tickets) to collect entrance and parking fees.
We got to watch the air show for free and enjoy a day with others from the band and soccer teams and we got cool volunteer shirts and enjoyed our "tailgating van" during a break

Unfortunately it rained before the Thunderbirds' finale, but at least we'd seen them fly over the baseball game Saturday. It was a great weekend!
