Pro Football Game!!

September 13 was one of our family's highlights of the year. The MN Vikings came to town for the football season opener. Before we'd moved here we told the boys if the Vikings ever came to town, we'd get tickets to experience their first pro football game. We found out last winter they'd be playing here already this year (can you believe it?). I said I personally wouldn't sit outside during a late season cold weather game, but when the detailed schedule was released it was the first game. And it was a beautiful warm day for outdoor football! Kraig and I had only been to a game as a marching band member in college, so it was a very memorable and new experience for all of us.
The Air Show was the previous weekend, but we still got a flyover!
Opening kickoff. You can see we got the cheap seats
Brady Quinn passing for the Browns (from Stacey's alma mater Notre Dame)
Brett Favre's first game with the Vikings!
Touchdown Vikings!
You could see part of the downtown skyline from our seats We actually had awesome seats with only 8 in our row, no one behind us, and only 4 rows in front of us in that section. The next section up behind us was the nosebleed one. Our family had decided to dress neutrally, but Tim decided to bring the Adrian Peterson jersey at the last minute. We were surprised to actually see quite a few Vikes' jerseys. Everyone in our section was nice to us anyway.
The Vikings won 34-20, so by the end of the game much of the stadium had cleared out. We took some pics anyway.
It was a fabulous day! The Vikings won't be here again for 8 years, but we've already decided we'll watch the next one on TV since so few of them are on TV here (and we REALLY miss watching). We are DEFINITELY looking forward to seeing Monday night's game against the Packers. Go Vikings!
