basement remodel update #6

It's been a while since I posted some basement pics. That doesn't mean progress isn't being made...just the opposite! Here's Tim priming the bedroom ceiling.
This is the storage area under the steps...the narrow spot Kraig found when he replaced the bathroom shower last Spring, which will hold several boxes. The rest of the area will store the Christmas tree, Tim's old single mattress and bunk bed frame, and the ping pong table when it's not being used. Kraig had to get a new texture brush to match the ceiling with what was previously finished. In Sioux City the texturing involved spraying a paint mixture. This time Kraig mixed joint compound and brushed it on, then painted it.

These next pics were just yesterday. It was a big day of painting! All the walls had at least one coat by the time we went to bed and the boys got all the outlets hooked up.
The storage area looks yellow, but it's more of a buttery tan color - the same as the rec room and bedroom
The rec room!
The rec room from the opposite angle with the doorway on the right side into the family room.
We decided to go with white by the steps, so this looks different already, but the tan/brown color is throughout the rec room.
This is the bedroom. The pictures make the color look different in each area, but the time of day and lighting actually changes the look, too.

Friday night we ordered the carpet, so within a couple weeks it should be nearly finished! We can't wait! Just in time for Kraig's busy Easter season....
