Tim had a basketball game with a bit of drama. They were playing Lawton, a town 15 minutes East of Sioux City. Tim's team was down by about 4 points most of the game, but always stayed right in it. For a lot of the game, Tim was assigned to guard one of their best players and did a great job on him.

Hands in the face...annoying if you're trying to shoot! In the third quarter they fell behind quite a bit. But then a huge 4th quarter surge brought them very close. With momentum building it seemed like it was just a matter of time until Tim's team would pull ahead to stay...nothing would deny them on this day!!!

But then with 1:18 left in the game and Tim's team trailing by just one point, the fire alarm suddenly started to blare!!! Everyone looked around, and the refs started waving us to clear the gym. Six teams playing on 3 courts and fans all went outside on a bitter cold night.
...it really was cold.
And then a fire truck came to save us. We were outside for about 15 minutes until the OK was given
...and back to finish the game. With a one point lead, the other team stalled for a long, long time playing keep away deep in the court. Finally we fouled them. Lawton made just one of two free throws. With 5 seconds left, Tim's team had the ball and an amazing pass was made to one of Tim's friend who was under the basket. He shot and the ball went in...overtime. Unfortunately, momentum was not on our side and the other team won the game 48-43. But it was a really exciting game that had a little bit of everything!
