basement remodel update #7

We've still been plugging away on getting the basement finished. Here are some pictures of the progress since last month. In a few days I'll put some photos up that show the carpet and furniture in place!

Taking out the wall on the left really opened up the area - we are so glad we decided to do that! We have the wood for the railing but that probably won't get done for a few weeks.
The left doorway goes into the large rec room and the door on the right into the bedroom. Installing the doors has been a HUGE project since 3 of them had to be cut down to fit under the duct work (as you can see in the picture) and then most of them in the house had to be cut down once the carpet was installed so the door didn't drag on the new carpet.
More baseboards and trim were purchased and stained by Kraig...
From the rec room looking into the bathroom... The door on the right goes into the laundry room (which we didn't finish) and the left goes into the storage area under the stairs. On the left side of the picture you can see one of the wall speakers Kraig installed. They are awesome! The boys love having the music from the stereo cover the whole basement.

Another view of the rec room... from this angle the bathroom is halfway down on the right at the door into the family room is on the right at the very end.

Kraig mopped the floor before the carpet was installed.
In addition to getting carpet in the basement, we replaced it in the 3 bedrooms upstairs. The rest of upstairs is wood, so the entire house has new carpet. Here's our room...
Michael's room....the picture I took of him pulling up his mauve carpet unfortunately didn't turn out. This is the pad that was under the old carpet.

Tim had purple carpet... not Vikings purple either...
