transition time!

Since it's been 3 weeks since posting anything and with so many changes in our lives, I am going to summarize some events since New Year's Day for our family.

Our Moving Time:
-discovered it only takes 14 hours to drive here from SC
-hired an attorney to get involved with the moving company FIASCO
-appreciate wonderful friends who "supervised" the movers in order for us to leave SC (2 days later than planned plus it took the movers another 2 days to finish and move our things into storage only 1/2 mile away)
-have a beautiful home to stay with a church family for right now
-sold our house Tuesday!
-bought our new home yesterday!
-get possession of our home this Saturday night
-Kraig will fly back to SC with a couple other guys next week to rent trucks and load our belongings to move our things here (why did we pay a moving company???)
-will likely file lawsuit after the move is finished (it's a LONG story!!)

Kraig:
-is enjoying his new position and getting to know everyone!
-has been working toward getting ahead in service planning
-gets his pastoral license with NAB (North American Baptist) Conference today
-has been trying to learn many names and faces
-enjoyed his first church potluck here at the annual meeting Sunday night
-has to clear the snow off the car almost 3 times every day
-enjoys the new season of 24

Kristin:
-wouldn't know how to have a job with so many other things going on (maybe this Fall?)
-is eager to get into new home to clean and set it up for our family!
-discovered how fast it is to make supper and clean up after with 2 ladies in the house!
-started a Beth Moore study at church Wednesday nights (started week 3 today)
-is getting new recipes and sharing old ones
-enjoyed a ladies' outing at church (called Sweet Saturday)
-attends 2 of the 3 Sunday morning worship services, 1 blended with the choir and 1 contemporary with the band (and gets to hear the message twice!)
-found that Giant Eagle is the "new" HyVee and Moe's Southwest Grill is the new Taco del Mar (it's better and cheaper than Chipotle right by church)
-loves seeing deer in the backyard almost every day

Tim & Michael:
-found that Mom had more paperwork to get them in school than to buy a house
-waited over a week to start school (after 2 days of testing)
-don't like getting up early after nearly a month break
-like their new teachers and classes
-play guitar hero in their spare time
-enjoy their break from piano lessons
-love having great home cooked meals every night and discovering new restaurants (like the Mad Cactus)
-enjoyed glow in the dark mini golf more than the movie Mall Cop and are tired of shopping
-had only 2 days of school before getting a snow day and MLK Jr. day off
-are looking forward to going to Science Center tomorrow (another day off for end of semester)
-tried out 2 sledding hills already and love all the snow!
