Just a few days after we returned home from MN, we traveled 90 minutes NW to Lakeside, part of the Lake Erie Islands area. Our friends, Chris & Lynnea Mueller & kids, who moved a couple of years ago from the Sioux City area to North Carolina (with a "layover" in Cedar Rapids) spent the week at Lakeside for Lynnea's family reunion (she grew up in the Cleveland area). We squeezed an overnight with them in between the boys' dentist appointments Thursday and Tim's soccer practice Friday and had a fabulous time together! Looking back, I still can't believe we added a short trip when we were only home for 6 days after the MN trip and before the Washington DC trip, but it was very relaxing to hang out with so many things there to do.
Nagata Shachu - Japanese Taiko Drummers performed that evening.
I hadn't seen so such a huge shuffleboard area before. This is just one of the areas. Kraig, Chris, Rylan & Lynnea are all walking in the middle and Michael is on the right side.
Kraig and Michael are playing horseshoes with Lake Erie in the background (Tim is playing here, too but isn't in the picture).
Kraig and the kids made a sand castle. Can you tell it's the metrodome?
This is a side-view of their 4 bedroom cottage for the week. It was perfectly located near the pier and beach, basketball, mini golf and other activities as well as downtown. Since most of Lynnea's family had already left or were in other cabins, our 2 families had the place to ourselves that night. We played games, then talked until 2 am!

Looks nice! That shuffleboard picture is quite unusual!
